With the rapidly changing situation with respect to the COVID-19 virus we wanted to update all our teams on the status of the championship moving forward, especially with respect to the much anticipated round at Bathurst’s Mount Panorama which was recently postponed by the New South Wales Government and the promoter.
“Obviously the Bathurst announcement affects the next round of the championship (April 10-12) whilst the third round at The Bend in June is as yet unaffected, however we will continue discussions with Motorsport Australia to provide everyone advance notice of what is going on as we move forward,” Radical Australia Motorsport Manager Karl Reindler explained.
“Clearly at this time our primary focus is the health and well-being of our teams and everyone involved with the category, so that comes first. After that we will look at what can be done with the remainder of the calendar for which we will be in contact with both ARG (the promoter of the Bathurst 6 Hour), Motorsport Australia and the Arise Racing team with respect to the Barbagallo round.
“The situation at the moment is very fluid, and whilst there are some variations between State governments and the Federal government, we will adhere to all their recommendations and those of the individual promoters - if we can however go racing, we will and will do what we can in the interim to find a way to conduct test and arrive and drive days.
“I am available to talk to anyone with any questions about the program moving forward and on a number of initiatives we are considering with respect to track time across the coming weeks, you can reach me by email - firstname.lastname@example.org or via mobile; 0422 114 115
“Stay safe and please, should your or any of your crew be feeling in any way unwell, have them obtain clearance from their local doctor before attending any future events.”
